Up For Grabs is LIVE

Thursday, August 21st, 2008

Our latest feature release includes a new feature called Up For Grabs. It’s an exciting new way for suppliers to distribute leads.  Here’s how it works.

When a supplier puts a lead Up For Grabs, an email notification goes out to distributors letting them know that there is a new lead available. Distributors may log in and view limited information about the lead (e.g. Company Name, Location, etc). The first distributor to claim the lead gets it and it shows up in their account under the Leads section. At the same time the supplier is notified regarding which distributor claimed the lead and then they can work the lead together from there.

To keep it fair and prevent Up For Grabs leads from being claimed by the same distributors all the time, we’ve instituted a credits system.  With each Up For Grab lead that the distributor claims, deducts one credit from their account.  Once their credits reach zero, they can not claim any more leads.    We’ve deposited a small number of credits in each account to get everyone started.  Credits may be earned in various ways and we’ll be posting more about that shortly. For now, enjoy the new Up For Grabs feature and please let us know your thoughts by clicking the “Feedback” button on the top right.  And don’t forget to spread the word!  Invite your supplier / distributor partners into PromoLeads.

UPDATE: There’s been a lot of confusion about where these Up for Grabs leads can be found (sorry about that!) As you can see in this little screenshot below, the place to find Up for Grabs leads and information is under you Leads tab. The actual information here may change as we make improvements, but this is the place to look.

Easier Web Forms, Favorites Are Starred

Tuesday, June 24th, 2008

Release 111 of PromoLeads (which came out last week) has a huge improvement for suppliers.

Beginning with this release, suppliers who host the PromoLeads form can put a simple, short bit of code on their sites that will enable them to edit their form within PromoLeads – without having to re-upload the code.  It’s a bit of programming magic that really lets suppliers tweak their forms and measure the results in real time. For example, you may want to test conversions with different forms (e.g. shorter forms, longer forms, different questions, etc). Now that can be done at any time without having to reupload code for each change.
Other changes that you may notice:

  1. Distributors may now view all suppliers in the PromoLeads system and see who has marked them as a “Favorite”. Remember distributors who are marked as favorite by a supplier may receive leads instantly and have their contact info (name, company, phone etc) shown instantly to the end-user.  It’s been proven again and again that when an end user is show the distributors contact info – the likelihood of closing the sale increases dramatically.   Distributors can automatically be set as a favorite by Inviting their favorite suppliers to join PromoLeads.  When a supplier accepts your invitation – you’re automatically marked as a favorite!
  2. Suppliers may see all distributors in the system. You’ll notice a link near the LeaderBoard – to “View All”

Thank you for all the feedback – Please keep it coming!

New Features and Win a Free Website

Saturday, November 17th, 2007

This week in our newsletter – we announced a drawing for a free website and highlighted new features in the latest release.

Details of the Free Website Drawing are posted Here.  Entering is easy – you just need to be an active beta participant and have your form active

Also this week the PromoLeads interface was updated with three new features

  • The PromoLeader Board™ is now live!
The PromoLeader Board displays pertinent data about supplier and distributor lead performance. It provides a view into both sides of the equation by reporting lead activity (volume and follow up activity) as well as success rates. Suppliers Please Note – you’re sold % and that of your distributors depends upon you marking your leads with the correct sales stage. Please remember to mark your leads “sold” under the “Status” section.
  • Distributors may now pause their accounts.
Going on vacation, can’t get internet access on the beaches of Bora Bora. Just pause your account while you’re away. Go to the Settings Tab and click “Pause My Account” – when you return, simply un-pause your account to receive leads again. You may still access your leads while your account is paused.
  • Distributors may now transfer leads within their company.
If you’re overwhelmed with leads and want to hand some off to another associate within your company you may now do so. While viewing the leads, click on Tools and then “Transfer This Lead”. You’ll see a list of other sales people from your company. Select the sales person you want to transfer to and if you like you may also include a note to that person. Please note: once you transfer a lead, you no longer have access to that lead.

Thank you for your continued support of the Beta test.  Just 6 weeks left until our formal launch!!

New at PromoLeads

Wednesday, October 31st, 2007

As PromoLeads moves closer to our official launch you will be seeing some changes when you log in. The first thing you’ll notice is the new coat of paint we’ve added. We think it’s a step up, let us know what you think!

There’s a lot more than just a new look, though. When you log in your homepage will now be organized with tabs. We’ve added a dashboard with information about your account and a new Reminders feature. You can add a reminder to keep track of followups or yearly events.

Your Leads (the next tab over from Dashboard) is organized differently now, too. The complicated “filters” method of viewing your leads is replaced by simple listing of your leads in order of “latest action.” Whenever something happens with a lead (a new note is added, a status change, etc), it will pop up to the top of your list so that you won’t overlook it. Hopefully this makes it a lot easier to stay on top of your leads.

Behind the scenes our programmer is working to speed things up so PromoLeads will be faster and more responsive. There’s lots of improvements still in development, and we hope to get them out to you as soon as possible.

Your feedback really makes a difference! Please let us know what you like, what you don’t like, and what you’d like to see added to PromoLeads.

Thanks for using PromoLeads!

Show me the pledge

Thursday, August 2nd, 2007

Some of our new suppliers have been (understandably) worried that putting a PromoLeads form on their site would lead to misunderstandings with their distributor. Along with suggesting a more open dialog between suppliers and distributors, we’ve added a feature to the form creation process that allows suppliers to add the PromoLeads Pledge to their forms.

When creating a new form, just check off the box that says “Show the PromoPledge on my form” and your new code will include the pledge. If you’d like to add the pledge to existing forms, log in and click the name of the form (on your home page, under “Your Forms”), then click the “edit this form” link. Follow the directions above and save your form. You’ll have to replace the HTML code on your website after you save the form.

Hopefully this helps some of our suppliers avoid any misunderstandings with distributors! If you have any questions or comments, please let us know. Thanks for trying PromoLeads!

Filter Amnesia: Cured!

Tuesday, July 31st, 2007

The new lead filter on your home page was a big improvement over the too-long list of leads, but sometimes fixing one problem creates another. Pretty much everyone hated the way the filter wouldn’t “remember” the options you picked.

Well, as of today your lead filter grew a memory. When you choose options, PromoLeads will keep those options set when you return to your home page. Hopefully this will lead to a lot less frustration!

As always, thanks for being a part of the PromoLeads beta and don’t be shy about telling us what you don’t like or what you think is missing.
